We cut your child's name into a board of solid oak, deep enough for a small finger to follow each letter from first stroke to last. Choose printed letters for a child who is beginning to read them, or cursive for one learning to join.
For most children, their name is the first word they want to write. Tracing it again and again builds the movement in the hand, so that when a pencil comes along, the shape already feels familiar.
The board is sanded smooth and finished with Osmo Wood Wax Finish, with no paint or dyes. We make each one by hand here in the UK, one name at a time.

Each board is cut from solid oak, with the name routed deep enough for a small finger to follow. We make every one by hand, here in the UK, once your order comes in.
Nothing added
We never use paint or dyes. The board is sanded smooth and finished with Osmo Wood Wax Finish, made from plant oils and natural waxes, so the warm honey colour you see is the oak itself.

Everyday care. Wipe with a damp cloth and let the wood dry naturally. Please don’t soak it or put it in the dishwasher.
Where to keep it. Away from radiators and direct sun. Wood moves a little as the air grows drier or damper through the year, which is quite natural.
Refreshing the finish. When the wood begins to look dry, rub in one thin coat of Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin (1101), the finish we use ourselves, and let it dry fully before play. Once dry, it is food-safe. For babies who mouth their toys, ideally wait two weeks. Or let us make it easy: our Toy Care Kit has everything you need.

We are pleased to offer free delivery by Royal Mail Tracked 48 on every UK order of £20 or more; orders under £20 are charged £1.95.
Orders placed before 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, are dispatched the same day. Should you need your order sooner, next-day delivery is available at checkout for £2.95.
