Slow Fingers, Steady Hands
Before a child can hold a pencil well, their hand has to learn the movement. A tracing board teaches it without a page to spoil or a line to miss: the groove keeps a small finger on the path, again and again, until the shape is in the hand as well as the head.
Start with a name, the word a child most wants to write. Move on to the alphabet and to numbers. Or simply follow the smooth loop of the infinity board, slowly, when the day needs to quieten down.
The Montessori Playmat
In Montessori education, the work mat defines the child's workspace — a bounded area that fosters focus, independence, and respect for materials. Children carry their chosen activity to it, work, and return everything when finished. This is the Montessori work cycle.
Our playmat brings this principle home. It creates a "prepared environment" - a core Montessori concept - wherever your child chooses to learn. On the kitchen table, the living room floor, or at a grandparent's house.
- Defines a focused workspace for independent learning
- Protects surfaces and keeps pieces contained
- Rolls up for easy storage and travel
Solid Oak, and a Little Colour
Every tracing board is cut from solid oak. The Trace & Place shapes add four naturally colourful hardwoods. No paint, no dyes: every colour you see is the real wood.
