We design heirloom wooden toys that celebrate nature’s own colours. The base is oak or beech; the pops of colour come from rare hardwoods like Padauk and Purpleheart—never paint or dye. Each piece is CNC-cut and hand-finished in our Wiltshire workshop (with help from small partner workshops), then checked one by one.
Are the finishes safe?
Yes. We use child-safe oils/waxes and sand smooth rounded edges. Our toys are built to UK/EU toy-safety standards (EN71). If you’d like a copy of the docs for a product, just email care@oakandsprout.co.uk.
What age are they for?
Most small-piece puzzles are 3+ due to small parts. Always supervise play and follow the age guidance on each product page.
Will the wood colour match the photos?
Wood is wonderfully individual. Grain and tone vary, and we rotate the exotic species we use—so your toy will be very close, but not identical. That’s part of the charm.
Can you personalise/engrave?
Often, yes. Add your message on the product page if the option appears. Personalisation can add 1–2 working days.
What if we lose a piece?
We’ve got you. Email a quick photo and we’ll sort a replacement piece (usually a small fee + postage).
How do I care for wooden toys?
Wipe with a slightly damp cloth, then dry. Avoid soaking, harsh cleaners, or long spells in direct heat/sun. If it ever looks a little dry, a tiny dab of food-safe oil brings the glow back.
Where are your toys made?
Designed and hand-finished in Wiltshire, UK. Some components are produced by trusted small workshops; everything is quality-checked by us before it ships.
Do you use sustainable wood?
Yes—FSC or equivalent responsibly-sourced hardwoods. We keep packaging minimal and recyclable.
How fast is shipping?
UK: usually 1–3 working days.
USA: typically +5 working days on top. We offer free UK shipping over £50 (some bulky items excluded). Orders under £50 are £2.49. Cut-off 4 pm Mon–Fri (Sat 12 pm) for same-day dispatch on next-day services. Bank holidays excluded.
Do you ship internationally?
Right now we ship to the UK and USA (no PO boxes/APO/FPO/US Territories). All US orders go DDP (duty paid)—no surprise fees on delivery.
What’s your returns policy?
30-day returns on most items in original condition. Personalised items and anything discounted 50%+ aren’t returnable. Furniture and rugs: 14 days from receipt. If anything arrives damaged, email us and we’ll make it right.

Craftsmanship is flawless; only downside is that the infinity board comes in one standard size; a mini travel version would be amazing for car rides.. The board itself is sturdy and the felt wrap is a nice touch.
You can really see the grain of every hardwood—my daughter keeps asking why one piece is purple! Fits together smoothly and looks gorgeous on the shelf.
