The Story Path
A story where they are the hero. Their name on the first page, a new adventure on every tile, and one path that leads them all the way to The End.
First, their name
Who’s the hero?
Engraved on the first page, in oak.
’s story is ready.
From the workshop to the living room
Made by hand. Played by them.
Planed, shellacked, engraved, ebonised, oiled and gilded in our Wiltshire workshop. Then handed to a three-year-old to see what she would make of it.
Every story needs a little magic
Some tiles are cut from rarer woods, their paths and stars laid in 24ct gold leaf by hand, one tile at a time. The first is purpleheart; a new wood arrives every week in November. A magic tile joins any other, so it can turn up anywhere: at the very beginning, in the middle, or just when it is needed most.

Twelve places the path can lead
The wood, the river, the tower on the hill. Every tile joins every other, so the path can wander anywhere. They come in four packs of three, each its own little adventure. Tap a tile and its part of the story begins.
Each tile is 120 mm square and 13.5 mm thick, cut from solid oak. More places are being drawn.

Each set is cut, engraved and finished once you order, their name set into the oak before the tiles go into the bag. So the first sets leave us on 1 December, in good time for Christmas.

A storytelling game, in oak
The Story Path is a storytelling game for young children: solid oak tiles that join into a path, with their name on the first page and The End on the last. Draw a tile from the bag, lay it on the path, and say what happens there.
Like story stones or story dice, the pictures do the prompting and the child does the telling. Here the pieces lock together, so the whole story stays laid out to read back from the start, and no two stories come out the same.
It makes a lovely gift for 3 and 4 year olds who love a story, and it grows with them: every tile and pack added later joins the set they already have. The game above is the way in. On the floor, the story is theirs.
Read our storytelling guide: how story stones, story dice and story tiles are played, and how storytelling helps in the early years.
Where will their story begin?
Begin with the bookends, three oak tiles and a magic one, then add more as the story grows. Every new tile makes the story a little longer, and the pile a little more surprising.
Made to order in our Wiltshire workshop, and posted from 1 December.
In the bag. Every set comes in our cotton drawstring bag, which is also the pile you draw from.
Nothing doubled. The game adds this same starter set with the story you laid, so nothing is duplicated. Packs and single tiles are extras.
